How do you dose your CBD oil?

To feel the effects of CBD oil, it's important to dose your CBD oil correctly. To do this, you need to take several criteria into account. Mama Kana gives you all the information you need to enjoy the benefits of CBD. Find out how to dose your CBD oil.

Know the concentration of CBD in a single drop before you start

Dosage is an indication of dosage present in all health and wellness methods. When it comes to taking a medicine or herbal tea, dosage is an essential criterion. It will depend on your weight and the concentration of active agents present in the product in question.

The same applies to CBD oil: you'll need to do a little math. To dose your CBD oil correctly, you need to know the concentration of CBD in a drop. That way, you'll be able to determine how many drops you'll need for relief.

The concentration of CBD in a drop varies according to the level of CBD present in the vial. It also depends on the size of the vial in millilitres, and therefore on the number of drops it contains. The higher the concentration, the more potent the drop's cannabidiol content.

For example, if you have a 10 ml bottle of CBD oil with a 10% concentration, it will contain around 200 drops. If the CBD concentration is 10%, we know that one drop of this bottle contains 5 mg of CBD.

Mama explains in more detail in the rest of the article.

Factors to consider when measuring out your CBD oil

Finding the right dosage and the right oil can be tricky. There are a few things to keep in mind.

Firstly, you'll choose the CBD percentage according to the frequency and intensity of your problems. These may be physical, such as pain, or psychological, such as stress, anxiety or depression.

CBD oil may also accompany more serious syndromes such as epilepsy or Parkinson's disease. In these cases, Mama strongly advises you to establish a medical follow-up.

Secondly, you need to know the amount of CBD present in a drop, based on the capacity of the bottle and the percentage of CBD. You can find an explanatory table to define the CBD content in mg.

Next, you'll need to determine the number of drops per day, based on the concentration of one drop, your weight and the intensity of your problems. If, after a few tries, you don't feel sufficient relief, you can gradually increase the number of drops or the concentration of the bottle.

Another important criterion is whether the oil is Full Spectrum or Broad Spectrum. A Broad Spectrum oil will be more potent, as it contains other cannabinoids in addition to CBD.

Calculate the right dosage of CBD according to these criteria

Now that you have all the criteria in your possession, it's time to perform a simple calculation to find out how much to take in ml per day. Here's a reminder of the criteria:

  • Your weight ;
  • The type of symptom you wish to treat;
  • The frequency and intensity of your problem;
  • The CBD content of your CBD oil.

One drop corresponds to approximately 0.05 millilitres. This means that a 10 ml bottle of CBD oil contains 200 drops. Most bottles are this size. Next, tables are available to help you understand the number of mg per drop as a function of CBD content.

A vial of 5%, i.e. 500 mg, contains 2.5 mg of CBD per drop. A 10% vial is 5 mg, 15% is 7.5 mg, 20% is 10 mg and so on.

Example: for an individual who weighs 65 kilos and has a 10% CBD bottle with an average stress level. The recommended dose is between 27 and 30 mg of CBD per day. 1 drop of 10% CBD oil contains 5 mg, which meansyou'll need to take around 5 drops a day.

Conclusion: remember that dosage is not unique

We've already seen how important dosage is to the effectiveness of CBD oil. But other factors can also contribute, notably the percentage of CBD in the bottle.

As mentioned above, the way the oil is extracted is also an important factor in its effectiveness. Full Spectrum oils are more effective, as they contain a synergy of cannabinoids. The oil will be more effective because its affinity with endocannabinoid receptors is greater.

The way CBD oil is consumed is also important.CBD oil is always taken sublingually. That is, under the tongue, with a short pause before swallowing. I advise you to put the required number of drops under the tongue and wait 1 minute.

It's also possible to supplement your wellness routine with CBD flower infusions, candies or concentrates in the most painful cases.

Finally, it is possible toapply CBD oil locally for targeted pain. In this way, the bloodstream and thus the inflammation can be reached via the skin. Digestive problems or headaches can be relieved more intensively by massage the painful area with CBD oil.
